According to the City of Fort Worth, the incident occurred on Interstate 35 southbound near Sycamore School Road where Randolph was fatally struck by a vehicle that drove through the accident scene.
Sgt. Randolph, who was a father, husband, brother, and son was standing outside his patrol car engaged in the cleanup and investigative efforts when the collision happened, the driver who hit him is now in police custody. Meanwhile, Sgt. Randolph was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
