In a recent event unfolding in the early hours of the morning, Seattle Police apprehended four men connected to a smash-and-grab burglary in the Belltown neighborhood. According to the Seattle Police Department, the incident took place yesterday at around 2:28 a.m. near the 100 block of Blanchard Street.

Responding to a call of commercial burglary, patrol officers arrived at the scene to find five individuals had executed the heist, subsequently fleeing. Despite the crash of their getaway vehicle into the building, which was later discovered unoccupied and impounded by the police, the suspects managed to escape initially. Three victims were later booked into King County Jail without incident, and while trying to flee the scene, police captured two burglars following brief foot pursuits.

The Seattle Police detailed that all suspects, whose ages range from 29 to 61, were arrested on charges of Burglary 2nd Degree. Three of the suspects are currently being held at the King County Jail — their attempt to vanish into the belly of the city was ultimately thwarted. Meanwhile, a fourth individual was declined booking by the jail staff due to unspecified reasons.

It was revealed by the Seattle Police Department that one of the culprits had an active $4,000 arrest warrant for previous charges of Trespass and Theft. In a similar vein, another one from the group was wanted on a $500 Theft warrant. The case has since been taken over by detectives from the General Investigations Unit for further probing into the circumstances surrounding the Belltown burglary.
