Oracle residents will soon have the chance to clear out their file cabinets and medicine drawers without costing a penny. The Pinal County Attorney's Office is offering a free service aimed at assisting locals in protecting their privacy and preventing drug misuse. On Saturday, September 14, they're hosting a document shredding and prescription drug take-back event at the Oracle Community Center, as announced on their website.
The shredding service provides a secure method to properly and completely destroy sensitive personal documents, including old tax returns or health records which could be used to steal identities if not carefully discarded. In partnership with the Mammoth Police Department, the drug take-back initiative is a perfect chance for folks to responsibly rid themselves of old medications safely.
Both services will be available from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., allowing residents a short window to take part in this community safety initiative. "The document shredding is a great opportunity for residents to properly dispose of sensitive documents, such as old tax returns or medical information," the County Attorney's Office stated. They ensure thorough and confidential destruction, a necessary step in the digital age where information is easily compromised.
While the services are free, attendees are encouraged to bring toiletry donations for Pinal County abuse shelters. Suggested items include basic necessities like toothpaste and toothbrushes. The event represents not just an opportunity to safely dispose of personal items but also to provide assistance to those in need within the community. The location is set for 685 E. American Ave in Oracle, a place for residents to quickly drop off their items. "The event will also feature a prescription drug take back in partnership with the Mammoth Police Department," the news release mentioned, marking a step in aiding to prevent medication misuse within the community.
