Marietta residents, mark your calendars for back-to-back city council meetings. The first one, an agenda work session, will kick off at 5:15 p.m. on Monday, August 12. Two days later, Wednesday, August 14, prepare for a double feature starting with an agenda review at 6 p.m., then the main event – the City Council's regular meeting at 7 p.m. These civic engagements will unfold in the usual spot, the City Council chamber, conveniently located on the lobby level of City Hall at 205 Lawrence St. Both meetings will be available for public attendance virtually.
Proactivity is the name of the game when it comes to city governance, and the Marietta City Council keeps citizens in the loop with agendas posted online prior to their meetings. The sessions will be broadcast live and later archived for your future viewing pleasure on the city’s website, at mariettaga.gov.
The last Saturday of the month, at 3 p.m., is a set appointment for those who prefer a recap. Tune into Comcast Channel 23 to watch the regular City Council meetings air, a tradition that provides a condensed peek into the legislative workings of the City. It's community engagement wrapped in the convenience of your living room, allowing for a digest of civic decisions with your afternoon tea.
