Goodyear's Civic Square Project Takes Shape, Revitalization Efforts Underway for Vibrant DowntownSource: City of Goodyear

Goodyear's blueprint to revitalize its city heart is quickly transitioning from concept to concrete, with the GSQ project forging ahead. This endeavor aims to craft a bustling downtown core, and the anticipation for this new development is buzzing. Per information from the City of Goodyear, construction has kicked off to bring about a walkable downtown centered around Goodyear Civic Square. The area designated for development is bordered by notable roads—stretching north from I-10 to Encanto Boulevard and spanning from 150th Drive to Bullard Avenue.

Engagement with residents has been integral since 1984, as community committees continually provide feedback on their envisioned downtown. According to the city, their persistent vision includes an area for combined public services, a hub for communal events, and a rise in economic vitality through mixed-use complexes.

In a recent statement, Goodyear Mayor Joe Pizzillo expressed his enthusiasm for the project's future, "What we see now is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg of what is to come. I’m excited about the new businesses we will be announcing soon at GSQ."

The city has to officially reveal a collection of businesses set to open their doors in the highly anticipated GSQ district. Among them are eateries and service providers like The Stillery, High Tide Seafood Bar & Grill, and Shake Shack, promising to cater to the diverse tastes of Goodyear's locals and visitors alike. Additionally, businesses such as F45 Training and Miyu Nails and Spa are joining the lineup, aiming to offer varied amenities and leisure options within the new development.
