Atlanta's College Football Hall of Fame is hitting a milestone this year, and what better way to celebrate its 10th anniversary than with a hometown hero? Grammy Award-winning artist Big Boi, of Outkast fame, is set to perform at a free concert for the Hall's anniversary bash on August 24, as reported by the FOX5 Atlanta news. The day-long celebration promises to be a fan-filled festivity full of new exhibits, interactive experiences, and local flair—from team mascots to marching bands.
According to the FOX5 Atlanta news, Big Boi expressed his enthusiasm, "As an Atlantan and college football fan, performing for the College Football Hall of Fame’s 10th anniversary in my hometown is an honor and a perfect collaboration." He adds, "I’m looking forward to delivering that same atmosphere to this event, celebrating our city’s spirit, the history of college football, and bringing fans together for the game."
Apart from the headlining act, attendees can look forward to a variety of family-friendly activities, including live DJs, the Home Depot GameDay Bus, and various prize giveaways. As reported by the CFB Hall news release, the "Coca-Cola Free Admission Day" is part of a partnership with its sponsor, allowing guests to enjoy the anniversary offerings without purchasing a ticket.
Industry leaders have not shied away from recognizing the importance of this decade mark. Bill Lingenfelter, Chairman of the Board at the Hall, emphasized the community's "unwavering support," a sentiment that was echoed by National Football Foundation President & CEO Steve Hatchell. Both noted the integral role the Hall plays in celebrating college football's storied history. "We salute the city, the leaders, and the fans and look forward to a robust future together," as per the CFB Hall news release.
For those planning to join the festivities, using Atlanta's MARTA system is recommended to avoid traffic around the event. The Hall aims to make the celebration a true community experience, bringing fans, families, and the city together to celebrate college football. Mark your calendar—the College Football Hall of Fame’s 10th anniversary party is set to be a great event for both the community and the sport.
