
A fatal car collision on 19 Mile Road in Spencer Township claimed the life of a 19-year-old Greenville man yesterday. According to WWMT, the incident occurred just after 8 a.m. when the young man, operating a Hyundai Genesis, tried to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone, subsequently colliding with a westbound BMW.
The Kent County Sheriff's Office reported that the attempt to overtake another car led to the catastrophic event wherein the Greenville man perished. Traveling at high speeds, he crested a small hill and consequently struck the BMW driven by a 39-year-old Battle Creek man, as mentioned by WZZM 13. Both the 18-year-old passenger from Sumner in the Hyundai and the Battle Creek man sustained minor injuries.
Speed is a key factor in the crash, and local authorities are investigating it.
