Earlier this month, a routine call transformed into a significant seizure of illegal weapons and narcotics by the Hayward Police Department. A homeowner's concern about a family member's erratic behavior prompted the intervention, with officers responding to the scene on a note of worry and precaution. The family member, suspected of being under the influence of narcotics, had accumulated an arsenal that included an AR-15 and a copious stockpile of ammunition.
Upon obtaining consent to search the residence, the Hayward Police Department reported that they had found "multiple firearms, including an AR-15, and a significant amount of ammunition." The discovery didn't end there. Officers continued to carefully retrieve "various suspected narcotics, and explosive materials." The gravity of the situation necessitated an immediate evaluation of the individual, which swiftly led to an arrest on several charges related to weapons and narcotics.
The Hayward Police Department used this opportunity to extend gratitude to the community, especially "the concerned family members who reached out," as mentioned in their Facebook post.
