In the pre-dawn silence of Jefferson County, a family's escape from a life-threatening house fire is attributed to the vigilance of their dog, who is now missing. The West Metro firefighters responded to the emergency in the 4700 block of South Ward Way in Morrison at approximately 1:30 a.m. yesterday, as KDVR reports. The fire that awakened the household began on the back porch, swiftly consuming parts of the home and resulting in significant damage to both floors.
As the fire raged, melting even the vinyl siding of a nearby house due to intense heat, the dog's alert allowed the family to evacuate to safety. They awoke to the barking of the dog, whose actions were crucial to their survival. However, amid the chaos, the dog disappeared, and West Metro Fire has not provided a description of the lifelong companion now lost, according to 9NEWS.
The investigation into the fire's catalyst remains ongoing as authorities comb through ashes and rubble. "The heat from the fire also melted a portion of the vinyl siding on a neighbor's house", reports Denver7. In the wake of the destruction, the community has turned its attention to finding the brave dog that saved its family from potential tragedy.
