The chase began after a call from Miami-Dade police regarding suspects linked to a shooting in Palm Beach County, according to a statement provided by the City of Miami Police to CBS News Miami.
The pursuit escalated around 1:45 p.m., with the suspects' vehicle eventually colliding with four other cars at the intersection of NE 82nd Street and Biscayne Boulevard, consequently flipping a City of Miami police car. Despite the chaos and potential for harm, police confirmed that there were no injuries sustained in the incident. Mike Vega, Public Information Officer with City of Miami Police, indicated the man and woman were wanted for a shooting, but their identities remain undisclosed.
Biscayne Boulevard became a site of major congestion after Miami Police announced, through a post on X, that the boulevard would be closed between 81st and 84th Streets to conduct an investigation.

Witnesses to the event described the immediate impact. "We just heard like a boom and then a car flipped in the middle of the street and a bunch of cops just came around and whole commotion," Anas Chabia, an employee at the nearby One-tech Repair Center, told CBS News Miami. The prolonged closure of Biscayne Boulevard for approximately four hours during, the investigation not only impacted traffic flow but also local commerce.
