A Holland Township cyclist was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle yesterday. The incident took place around 10 p.m. near the intersection of Douglas Avenue and Van Dyke Street. The 41-year-old man was attempting to cross the avenue when a Chevy Equinox, driven by a 21-year-old Hudsonville man, collided with him, as reported by WOOD TV.
According to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office, the cyclist was taken to the Hospital where he was listed in good condition. The driver involved in the crash was unharmed. The specifics of the victim's injuries were not immediately disclosed, but they were not considered to be life-threatening, as WHTC noted.
Meanwhile, the deputies did not offer additional details regarding the cause of accident, which remains under investigation. Both the identities of the cyclist and the driver have not been released to the public at this time.
