The House Judiciary Committee, together with its Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement, released an eye-opening report on the national security implications of the Biden-Harris administration's immigration policies. The report titled "Terror at Our Door: How the Biden-Harris Administration’s Open-Borders Policies Undermine National Security and Endanger Americans," disclosed yesterday, that at least 99 individuals on the terrorist watchlist have been released into the U.S. since January 2021. This report pulls back the curtain on the staggering statistic that, amidst the more than 250 individuals flagged for terror concerns and encountered by Border Patrol on the southwest border over two fiscal years, nearly 40% were released rather than being detained or deported.

The report, which synthesized information from several security agencies, goes further to say that detained persons hailed from 36 different countries, some of which are known for their active terrorist contingents. Noteworthy among these are Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria. In addition, the data shows that in fiscal year 2024 alone, a significant number of illegal aliens originating from nations with known security risks have been encountered by Border Patrol—over 33,000 Chinese nationals, more than 500 Iranian nationals, and upwards of 3,000 Uzbek nationals. according to the Judiciary House Committee.

Adding to the controversy, the report reveals that at least three individuals with potential ties to ISIS were released after using the administration’s CBP One app to be processed into the country. As per the Judiciary House Committee, a former senior ICE official commented on the predicament, suggesting that the current administration’s policies make it increasingly difficult for ICE to effectively apprehend and detain national security threats in the United States.
