
A commercial vehicle fire on Interstate 40 East in Knox County brought traffic to a standstill Monday night, with the Tennessee Department of Transportation reporting the incident near the Midway Road exit at approximately 9 p.m., details confirmed by the Department's spokesperson, Mark Nagi. The Tennessee Highway Patrol, in its preliminary findings, shared with WBIR, stated the truck's driver noticed a fire underneath the vehicle before the trailer, loaded with plastic containers, was engulfed by the blaze fortunately, no injuries were reported and no charges have been filed against the driver.
