Rock Creek residents were startled by a recent incident where a man, attired in an Amazon uniform, was caught on camera looting packages from local apartment complexes. According to reports by the KOIN, the individual reportedly stole parcels early this morning before authorities apprehended him at the North Ridge Apartments.
Upon being taken into custody, the Washington County Sheriff's Office ascertained that the suspect not only pilfered various deliveries left at the residents' doorsteps, but he also took spray paint from an apartment's back porch, utilizing it, to deface a car. This criminal activity extended beyond mere theft. In a statement obtained by KPTV, authorities remarked, "Baxter was booked into the Washington County Jail for first-degree criminal mischief and second-degree theft."
Further details came from KATU, which identified the suspect as Jamie Lee Baxter, 46, of Portland. Baxter's alleged masquerade as an Amazon worker raised concerns regarding the security of unattended packages and the potential vulnerability of residents to such deceptive tactics.
