Fate struck again a short time later, with Knoxville Police responding to a crash on Martin Mill Pike at Lester Drive, as reported by WVLT. This calamity involved a Ford Mustang veering into the opposite lane, crashing into a Kia sedan. The impact was fatal for the driver of Mustang and inflicted non-life-threatening injuries upon the driver of the Kia, who was also transported to UT Medical Center.
