Yesterday morning saw the outbreak of numerous fires across a concentrated area of Kokomo, resulting in extensive damage to property, including vehicles, a garage, and a home. According to FOX59, the barrage began with a vehicle fire on the 400 block of West Mulberry Street, reported at 1:52 a.m.
Subsequently, in quick succession, KFD units found themselves to quickly respond to four additional fires within a span of just over an hour. A second vehicle fire, which also inflicted considerable harm upon a detached garage, broke out in the 400 block of North Webster Street around 2:20 a.m., as reported by a KFD spokesperson. The cluster of incidents continued with a house fire at around 2:41 a.m. on the 600 block of West Taylor Street, where the KFD later disclosed that the home had suffered "substantial" damage, as reported by FOX59.
Adding to the morning's alarming events, vehicle fires were also documented on West Jackson, North Wabash, and West Jefferson Streets.
