Authorities are calling for witnesses after a shooting rattled a business area in Lewisville. According to the Lewisville Police Department, the incident unfolded near 2175 S SH 121 Business and Corporate Drive on Sunday at around 3:33 p.m. A heightened police presence was noticed in the area as officers commenced their investigation.
One individual was reported to have been shot and subsequently transported to the local hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening. The assailant is believed to have fled the scene and is currently the subject of an active manhunt. The authorities are actively working to not just find but to also piece together what prompted the shooting.
The area was declared clear by Sunday evening, but the case remains open as detectives follow up on leads. Lewisville Police have made a point of reassuring the public that they are pursuing these leads with diligence and care, in further updates provided via their social media channels.
