A three-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 East near Piedras has forced a closure of the busy thoroughfare and resulted in serious injuries for at least one individual. According to the El Paso Police, the collision occurred around 2:26 a.m., sending one person to hospital with significant injuries. According to KVIA, the Special Traffic Investigators were subsequently called in to investigate the incident.
The intricacies of the accident reveal that, after the initial crash, a second collision swiftly took place, involving an unoccupied police car that was aiding with traffic management at the scene. This was reported by KSTM, who documented that there were thankfully no injuries from the secondary incident.
Authorities have not released any information regarding the identity of the injured person or the current state of their condition. To quickly alleviate any further risks, the police swiftly moved to redirect ongoing traffic onto the Dallas exit.
