
Early Friday morning, a man was left critically wounded after being stabbed in the neck in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood. The incident took place around 12:30 a.m. on the 200 block of South Cicero Avenue. Officers on patrol were flagged down by the 39-year-old victim, who reported the violent encounter, according to CBS Chicago.
Police say the victim shared that an unknown assailant approached him with a knife and then stabbed him in the neck before fleeing the scene. The identity of the person responsible has not yet been uncovered. First responders treated the victim at the scene before rushing him to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, as reported by FOX 32 Chicago.
Currently, no arrests have been made following the stabbing, as per FOX 32 Chicago. The search for the perpetrator is ongoing, with Area Four detectives leading the investigation.
