Early this morning, a 52-year-old man was the victim of a stabbing at Iris Trolley Station in Otay Mesa West. According to the San Diego Police Department Watch Commander's Log, the incident occurred at approximately 2:26 AM near 3120 Iris Ave. Reports indicate the man was waiting at the bus stop when confronted by a group of individuals claiming ownership of his duffle bag.
During the altercation, it is alleged that an unidentified Hispanic male in his 50s-60s, donning a jersey, pants, and a baseball cap, was involved in the stabbing that resulted in the victim's right forearm being injured. The suspect, together with the group that confronted the victim, left the scene before law enforcement arrived. Wearing unknown colors, the actual shade of the assailant's clothing was not specified in the police log.
The victim was promptly transported to a local hospital with injuries that have been described as non-life-threatening.
