A violent robbery at the South Memphis Market has left one man injured after suspects snatched a necklace from his neck and opened fire, as the Memphis Police Department (MPD) searches for three suspects involved in the crime. The incident occurred at the store located at 1430 Elvis Presley Boulevard, according to WREG, where one suspect reportedly reached over the victim as he checked out with the store clerk, stole the necklace directly from around his neck before attempting to flee from the scene.
The situation escalated when the victim pursued the suspect, as another one of the perpetrators, described as wearing all black with a marijuana leaf on the hoody, shot the victim several times, and this occurred while a third accomplice brandished a weapon. WREG further reports that surveillance footage shows one suspect with a deformity in his right arm, a second clad in black from head to toe, and the third with goatee facial hair sporting a Blue Moon logo on their clothing.
The victim, whose identity has not been released, was transported to Methodist University Hospital by a private vehicle in an unknown condition, the authorities are urging anyone with information to call CrimeStoppers at 901-528-2274, as reported by FOX13 Memphis.
