
The Long Beach Police Department reported a violent altercation on Louise Street on Monday evening, where a man was stabbed after a dispute escalated. According to the official police blotter, the incident occurred on August 12 at around 6:58 p.m. at the intersection of Louise Street and Long Beach Boulevard. The victim, a male adult, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was subsequently transported to a local hospital by Long Beach Fire Department personnel.
The report further details that the suspect, described as a male adult, absconded before police arrived on the scene, thus rendering him at large whilst the investigation perpetuated. In another case of illegal armament, law enforcement officers seized a firearm late Monday night after confronting a separate altercation in which a gun was presented amid a dispute. This incident unfolded in the 3400 block of Hathaway Avenue at approximately 9:40 p.m., where officers effectively implemented a search warrant and detained the individual implicated in the confrontation, as per the Long Beach Police Department.
The confrontation on Hathaway Avenue led to the successful apprehension of a suspect by members of the LBPD. As a part of their probe into the incident, police were able to recover a firearm from the scene, taking one more weapon off the streets of Long Beach.
