The Warren County Sheriff’s Office has been swept up in a manhunt following the escape of three inmates from the Warren County Community Correctional Center, with one of the trio still on the lam. The breakout occurred yesterday evening, around 9:09 p.m., when Isaiah Youngblood, 26, Terry Akers, 28, and Shaun Birgel, 45, broke free from the correctional facility on State Route 63 in Turtlecreek Township.
According to reports by LOCAL12, the group was last seen on foot heading in the vicinity of SR 63 near the interstate, and following the escape, the Middletown Police Department managed a swift apprehension of Akers and Birgel. However, the whereabouts of Youngblood remain unknown, as Sgt. John Smith with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that this individual is still at large, according to a statement obtained by FOX19.
The correctional center itself has not indicated that Youngblood poses a threat to the general public. Despite this assurance, they urge anyone who might catch sight of Isaiah Youngblood to contact authorities promptly by dialing 911. Explicit details regarding the nature of the escape or the inmates' motives have not been disclosed.
As reported by WHIO, various law enforcement agencies continue to work together to search for the missing inmate. The Warren County Sheriff's Office is leading the investigation and has provided updates as they become available. As the search intensifies, the community between State Route 63 and I-75 braces itself for the uncertainties that drift along with a fugitive's breeze.
