Mansfield Police are on the lookout for 23-year-old Edward Curtis Riboul, a suspect in a domestic stabbing that occurred on Tuesday night at a home on Pine Needle Lane. Officers arrived at the scene after receiving a 911 call reporting an unprovoked attack in which the victim was allegedly stabbed by his stepson while getting out of his car. The victim's condition remains undisclosed. Riboul, described as a 6'1", 180 lb Black male last seen in all-black attire, allegedly fled on foot and has evaded capture, as reported by Boston 25 News.
Authorities issued an arrest warrant for Riboul, charging him with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (knife) and assault and battery on a household/family member. They have been extensively searching for him with drones and assistance from neighboring law enforcement teams, including Foxboro PD and MetroLEC. According to WPRI, this detail specifies the "exhaustive search" conducted. Despite attempts by crisis negotiators to reach Riboul via his cell phone, efforts were unsuccessful, and after a three-hour search, it is believed that he may have left the Mansfield area.
The incident prompted officials to broadcast a reverse 911 call to inform residents and set up a perimeter as a precaution. During the investigation, detectives and other agencies have been working through the night in pursuit of the suspect. The Mansfield Police Department is seeking any information related to Riboul's whereabouts and urges the public not to approach him but to instead contact Mansfield Police Department Detective Patrick Pennie at 508.261.7301 x61348 or dial 911 for immediate assistance.
