Last Friday marked the end of the 2024 Summer Enrichment Program, but what stood out was a visit from Boston's own, Mayor Michelle Wu. Taking place earlier in the week, the youth at SEP were given a chance to interact with the Mayor directly, engaging in discussions about public service and civic leadership. According to the Suffolk County Sheriff's Department, the Mayor shared insights about her journey to the mayoral position and her daily responsibilities.
Mayor Wu, known for her advocacy and progressive policies in Boston, fielded questions from "a very engaged and thoughtful group", reported the Suffolk County Sheriff's Department. Engaging with the youth, and introducing them to the intricacies of city governance, the Mayor inadvertently made a great memory for the students participating in the 2024 class.
