Action News 5 reported that on June 30, a man absconded with a vehicle from 901 Tire and Auto Inc. on Summer Avenue, only to return it after wrecking it. The clock had barely struck 8:21 a.m. when officers arrived at the scene following an auto theft call.
The suspect's identity remains a mystery, having left the scene before authorities could apprehend him. According to FOX13 Memphis, the vehicle was unceremoniously returned to the shop. After the victim's vehicle was taken without permission, it was returned to the auto shop just as unexpectedly as it had disappeared.
Memphis Police are diligently working on the case, though no arrests have been made yet. The shop located at 5071 Summer Avenue is now back in possession of the vehicle, albeit in a less desirable condition, according to a WREG report.
