The Memphis Police Department has taken a 23-year-old man into custody after a series of property thefts culminating in a highly publicized beauty supply store burglary. Lepadro Dierrebronta Finley faces multiple charges including theft of property, vandalism, unlawful possession of a weapon, and burglary. According to Action News 5, his bond has been set at an astounding $1 million, and he is expected to appear in court later this week.
The string of incidents traced back to Finley began on May 9 and extended through late July, involving various types of alleged criminal activities over the two-month span. Authorities link him to multiple vehicle thefts as well as the pilfering of utility trailers and equipment from a local tree service company. In connection with the beauty store burglary at Beauty and Beyond, MPD alleges that Finley was part of a group that used vehicles to forcibly enter the storefront, as FOX13 Memphis reports.
Information provided by WREG indicates that the crime spree entailed the theft of six automobiles, various utility trailers, and a firearm originating from outside of Tennessee, which police later discovered on a lot in the Soulsville area. And more than $10,000 in merchandise was stolen from the beauty supply store.
Authorities continue to search desperately for the three accomplices connected to the early Monday smash-and-grab incident, while Finley remains in custody. In the most striking crime, surveillance footage obtained by the Memphis Police Department captured a gray Infiniti QX60 SUV backing into Beauty & Beyond, as another SUV was seen nearby. The suspects then used chains attached to the vehicle to pry open the store's front doors and made off with an assortment of hair and beauty accessories.
