Memphis Police Department has been wrestling with a bizarre and unseemly act of vandalism for the last three months, as an unidentified man continues to leave bags of feces at a local post office. According to WVLT, the individual has persistently plagued the United States Postal Service on Prescott Street, not only leaving the unsanitary package but also smearing it on the ground.
On August 1, officers responded to a call of misconduct at the office after the latest incident was reported at 6:46 a.m. Although the suspect has been committing this act for some time, described as wearing a tan hat that is 5’0, and gray tennis shoes, gray shirt with a design, and khaki shorts, no arrest has been as of yet made. The Memphis Police are urging anyone with information to step forward and assist in their ongoing investigation, as confirmed by WREG.
Surveillance efforts seem to have captured sufficient details about the suspect, who has been reported to weigh approximately 160lbs. This string of derogatory acts echoes not just a disdain for public property but an unabashed contempt for civic decency. Sharing details obtained by FOX13 Memphis, police have not yet made any breakthroughs in the case but remain hopeful that members of the public can provide critical information leading to an arrest.
In the meantime, the community and workers at the USPS facility must contend with the disturbing reality of this repeated vandalism. Anyone with information pertaining to the individual or the deeds in question is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 528-CASH.
