In a bid to tackle the persistent issue of lead poisoning, which can harm children's development, the City of Minneapolis Health Department is taking action by offering free blood testing for children. To ease access to this vital service, they are deploying a mobile testing lab at the upcoming Folwell Park resource fair and ice cream social. This event will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 21 from 6-9 p.m., located at 1615 Dowling Ave. N, as detailed by the City of Minneapolis Health Department.
The Minneapolis Health Department recognized the urgency and, therefore, has arranged this event as a convenient and no-cost opportunity for parents to have their children tested. According to the department's Facebook post, "A blood test is the only way to know if your child has lead poisoning."
