Community relief swept through when the San Diego Police Department announced via an X post today that Federico Barragan, the at-risk elderly man who went missing in the Pacific Beach area, has been located. The update, which provided no further details on the circumstances of Federico's discovery, simply expressed gratitude for the public's assistance in the search.

Earlier in the day, concerns for the 84-year-old Hispanic male were mounting after he was last seen on foot near the 1400 block of Grand Avenue. The call for public assistance to safely locate Federico were driven by the San Diego Police Department and shared by Hoodline. Described as 5’2” tall and 145 pounds, with white hair, brown eyes, and a white goatee, and walking with a cane, the details spurred both citizens and officials alike to actively engage in to locate the elderly man.
The San Diego Police had issued an alert earlier on the same day to highlight the risk associated with Barragan's disappearance. Details regarding his attire, when he went missing, were not provided, complicating the efforts of those trying to piece together his last known movements and current whereabouts. The case number supplied for any tips, 24-501388, was widely circulated in hopes of fostering leads.
Despite the successful recovery of Federico Barragan, the Police department has not yet released detailed information on his condition or where he was found.
