
The Gresham Police Department's search for 13-year-old Ceciliah Greene, a runaway teen who had been missing since Wednesday morning, ended in relief as the young girl was found unharmed. According to The Outlook, Greene had disappeared from her residence in the 1300 block of Northeast Eighth Street in Downtown Gresham and was located after the authorities' appeal to the community for help in locating her.
Greene, who requires medication, did not have it with her when she left her home around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, it is a situation that added urgency to the search efforts, the concern for Greene's well-being was palpable as she is also familiar with navigating the TriMet public transportation system, with her description made widely available in the hope that it would aid in her prompt return. In a report by KATU, the police described Ceciliah as a teen standing 5’7” with shoulder-length black hair and brown eyes.
The combined efforts of the Gresham Police and the community paid off safely and rapidly, Ceciliah was found and returned home just over 12 hours after she was last seen; this instance underscores the efficiency and responsiveness of local law enforcement when alerted to potential crises involving vulnerable youth.
