A fatal accident took place at Anaheim Street and Cherry Avenue on July 31, claiming the life of a motorcyclist, authorities shared the details of the incident. As reported by the Long Beach Police Department, the crash happened around 11:46 p.m. and involved a single vehicle.
The motorcyclist, described only as a male adult for now, was traveling southbound on Cherry Avenue when he failed to maintain control of his bike, crossing through the intersection at Anaheim Street the motorcycle jumped the curb on the southwest corner, striking a light pole and the front of a business located there, according to the police report. The Long Beach Fire Department personnel found the rider and declared him deceased at the scene.
Details regarding the motorcyclist's identity are not yet released. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner is tasked with identifying the deceased and notifying his next of kin.
