
A serene park setting was disrupted by the stark punctuation of gunfire earlier this month in Mount Dora, prompting police to seek the public's assistance. As captured on surveillance footage released Monday, the incident involved three individuals partaking in a daytime shootout amidst Cauley Lott Park, according to WFTV.
At about 6 p.m. on August 2, two young-looking males walked from North Highland Street to East Pine Avenue and opened fire at a dark sedan, unfolding the violent tableau. A third party, identified by police as the third unknown shooter, joined the fray, reportedly returning fire at the two initial shooters. Caught in this reckless crossfire, a bystander was shot in the leg, sustaining non-life-threatening injuries, and was subsequently treated at a local hospital.
An SUV parked at the scene also fell victim to the exchange, suffering multiple bullet holes from all three shooters' actions. Despite the extensive damage to the vehicle, it remains unclear whether anybody inside might have sustained injuries, as no reports to the police have yet emerged, according to FOX 35 Orlando.
