Residents in the Castle Hills area may have noted an uptick in police activity on Old Denton Road as law enforcement officers from multiple agencies engaged in a pursuit and search operation involving a suspect connected to found contraband. According to the Lewisville Police Department, the sequence of events began during a traffic stop by Lewisville PD where contraband was discovered.
The situation escalated when the driver decided to flee in the vehicle, leading officers on a chase that was shortly halted due to safety concerns, the vehicle was lost from the sight of Lewisville PD, and the pursuit was terminated. The suspect's luck ran out after Carrollton PD sighted and attempted to stop the vehicle which then crashed at the intersection of Magic Mantle and Old Denton, which saw the driver continuing their attempt to evade capture by fleeing on foot.
Despite the combined search efforts of Lewisville PD, Carrollton PD, and the Department of Public Safety's aerial units, the suspect managed to elude capture. "Evidence was recovered by officers, and the suspect is fully identified, charges will be filed at large", the Lewisville Police Department noted in their public communication. The authorities have assured that they have a solid lead on the individual behind the crime.
