The suburban quiet of Mustang Ridge was shattered by a "physical disturbance" back in July, according to the Mustang Police Department. Now, just under a month later, a 53-year-old man involved in the incident has died from his injuries, prompting a suspicious death investigation. KXAN reports that the man was found "unconscious and unresponsive" on July 24 around 8:30 p.m. following the disturbance at Bronco Court.
After being discovered by officers, the man was taken to South Austin Medical Center, where he fought for his life until August 18 when he died, according to the circumstances reported by CBS Austin. The cause of death remains a mystery, pending autopsy results conducted by the Travis County Medical Examiner's Office the day after his passing. Conducting the investigation, MRPD's Criminal Investigation Division and the Texas Rangers are now looking into the grim sequence of events that led to his death.
While the identity of the man has not been released publicly, authorities are keen on gathering more information. In a statement made by Mustang Ridge police, reaching out to the community, it is highlighted, “Anyone who may have any information about this case can contact Lt. Camerin Downs." Officials have shared multiple avenues for potential witnesses or those with knowledge of the incident to offer their insights, which could be crucial in untangling the threads of what happened that night on Bronco Court.
The collaborative efforts of the local police and the Texas Rangers echo the commitment to bring justice to the forefront. While the process unfolds, the police welcome information, with Lt. Camerin Downs being reachable at 512-801-0190 or through email at [email protected], as well as the option to report to the police department in person, for those holding pieces of the truth in their hands.
