A carjacking turned police chase ended with an arrest this morning after a man allegedly held a couple at gunpoint and made off with their RV. Jesse McBride, 33, is the suspect named in connection with the robbery that occurred in a parking lot on Victory Avenue.

Around 12:30 a.m., a couple in their mid-20s were approaching their vehicle, when they noticed McBride exit another car. Feeling uneasy, they both entered the driver's side of their RV. It was then that McBride opened the passenger door, brandishing a firearm and demanding keys and wallets. They complied, and McBride drove away with the vehicle. The victims reported that they had equipped the RV with Apple AirTags, which they used to track the vehicle to East Trinity Lane and Dickerson Pike, according to the Nashville Police Department.

When East Precinct officers located and tried to stop the stolen RV, McBride didn't pull over. Instead, he led police on a chase that came to a halt only after spike strips were deployed. The RV wrecked in Madison, where McBride then fled on foot but was soon apprehended by Officer Tommy Smith and his canine partner, Talon.

Now facing charges of aggravated robbery, carjacking, and evading arrest, McBride is held on a $175,000 bond.
