An off-duty Chelmsford police officer's quick reaction saved a 2-year-old girl following a near-drowning incident in New Hampshire. Officer Matthew Sech, who was at Iona Lake in Albany for a vacation with his family, heard screams at approximately 11 a.m. on Friday and responded to find a woman with her unresponsive child, recently pulled from the lake. MassLive reports that he then administered back blows to the toddler to clear her lungs of water.

Thanks to Officer Sech's immediate actions, the young girl regained consciousness, albeit remaining lethargic.
