
A tragic incident occurred on State Road 417 in Seminole County late Thursday evening, resulting in the death of a 32-year-old man from Orlando, as per reports from the Florida Highway Patrol. The accident took place around 9:30 p.m. when, for reasons still under investigation, the man's vehicle veered off the roadway, as detailed by ClickOrlando.
The victim was driving a 2004 GMC Sierra southbound near mile marker 40 when he, for "unknown reasons," ran off the road and collided with a tree. According to an affiliated statement by the FHP, he died at the scene of the crash. Notedly, the man was not using a seatbelt at the moment of the crash.
Troopers have closed the affected section of SR-417 to conduct an investigation and later reopened the road early Friday.
