
Phoenix police have made an arrest in connection with a shooting that claimed the life of a young man at an east Phoenix apartment complex earlier this week. Forty-year-old Thomas Draper has been taken into custody on suspicion of second-degree murder related to the death of 24-year-old Jacob Sierra. FOX 10 Phoenix reported that the shooting occurred just after 1:30 a.m. on August 12, close to the intersection of 43rd Street and McDowell Road.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered Sierra suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite being rushed to a hospital, he later succumbed to his injuries. According to police statements, the suspect was reported to have fled the scene in a vehicle before the authorities arrived. The area of McDowell Road where the shooting took place was closed for investigation but has been reopened since, as reported by AZ Family.
