Phoenix police are on the hunt for suspects following a drive-by shooting in south Phoenix that left a teenage girl wounded. The incident occurred late Thursday night, near 7th Avenue and Roeser Road, according to a report from FOX 10 Phoenix. The girl, at her home at the time of the attack, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
In what police described as a cowardly and violent attack, detectives are piecing together the details of the shooting and appealing to the public for any information. "Detectives responded and learned that the victim was inside the house as the unknown suspect(s) drove past shooting at the house," the Phoenix Police reported. To catch those responsible, the Arizona Silent Witness program has been activated, offering up to $1,000 for tips that lead to an arrest or indictment in the case, as confirmed by 12 News.
Police are urging witnesses who might have any pertinent information to step forward. The Silent Witness program is particularly useful in fostering community participation in the law enforcement process while providing anonymity to tipsters. Individuals can call 480-948-6377, visit the Silent Witness website, or use their mobile app to report what they know.
