
A Pima County deputy, responding to a domestic violence call, was ambushed and shot in the San Xavier District around 10 a.m. on August 13. The incident occurred near Jeffery and Camino De Oeste where the responding deputies noticed the suspect's vehicle, which fled and subsequently crashed into another vehicleas, as reported by FOX 10 Phoenix.
As detailed by KOLD News 13, after the crash, two men emerged and during a foot chase, one suspect fired a weapon, injuring a deputy. The deputy sustained a gunshot wound to the leg but is expected to recover. While the person responsible for the shooting remains at large, his accomplice has been detained. Authorities have initiated an extensive search for the fugitive.
The Pima County Sheriff's Department has described the at-large suspect as a Hispanic male in his late 30s, around 5-foot-9 with an average build, last seen wearing a black shirt. The department has warned the public that the suspect should be considered "armed and dangerous" and advises not to approach but instead call 911 and 88-CRIME with any information regarding his whereabouts.
