A police pursuit in Miami Gardens ended abruptly when a black GMC Denali, being followed by the Broward Sheriff’s Office, careened off State Road 826 and into a construction area. According to WSVN, the incident occurred near the entrance to the NB Turnpike on SR-826 East. The chase began around the Golden Glades Interchange before culminating in a rollover crash involving the Denali and a second truck, which blocked the ramp.
The aftermath of the pursuit prompted a road closure where deputies are conducting their investigation. As of now, it remains unclear if any injuries were sustained during the event. The Florida Highway Patrol also responded to the scene. Images captured by 7Skyforce show the Denali amidst a pile of sand while the overturned truck obstructed traffic.
Further impacting traffic, a disabled vehicle blocked the left lane on I-95 South past Florida's Turnpike/US-441/SR-9/SR-826. The incident was reported by Florida Department of Transportation and last updated at 08:44 p.m. Motorists were advised by Road Rangers to move over or slow down as they approached the obstruction.
