The Putnam County community breathed a sigh of relief as the local sheriff’s office located 11-year-old Paxton Elliot, who was reported missing earlier on Thursday morning when he failed to appear at his bus stop. According to Hometown Connect, Paxton was last seen along South Fork Road, dressed in a bright green hoodie with a light shirt underneath and blue jeans. He is described as having brown hair and blue eyes.
In a rapid response, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office dispatched deputies to the area, and information about the search was promptly disseminated on social media channels, with a call for public assistance in locating the missing child. Just 30 minutes after authorities announced the public plea for help, WKRN reported that Paxton had been found. Wearing a bright green hoodie, he stands 4'6" tall and weighs approximately 65 pounds.
The brief search, punctuated by the community's heightened concern for Paxton's safety, underscores the importance and effectiveness of rapid communication in emergent situations involving minors. The Putnam County Sheriff's Office has not released details regarding the circumstances of Paxton’s disappearance or how he was found. However, a statement provided by WSMV indicated that "the child had been found," thankfully ending what could have escalated into every parent's worst nightmare.
