The Town of Queen Creek government offices, including the Recreation Annex, are taking a day off this Labor Day, which falls on September 2. The offices will be closed in observance of the holiday, giving town employees a well-deserved break. Not to worry, though, Queen Creek residents can expect no interruption to public safety or emergency services during this time. Those facing a water, sewer, or street emergency should still make a call to 480-358-3131.
For those wondering about trash and recycling, it's business as usual. The holiday does not affect these services, so residents in Zone 1 should have their carts ready for pick-up by 6 a.m. on September 2. And, if you've got a heap of items for bulk trash service, get them out on the curb by that same early hour. Missed pickups have a 48-hour grace period, but thankfully you can easily schedule services and report issues through the Town of Queen Creek official website.
Under normal circumstances, the Town operates from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and is closed Friday through Sunday, for those needing to pencil in a visit for the following week. The Recreation Annex caters to the community from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. during the weekdays and closes earlier on Friday at 3 p.m., remaining shut for the weekend. This annex sits at 21802 S. Ellsworth Road for those looking to plan their visit post-holiday.
Queen Creek is keeping up with the times by making sure updates and communications for the residents are readily available. Follow the Town on Facebook at Facebook.com/QueenCreek for the latest. And for the non-emergency issues that are just as pressing, QC’s SeeClickFix program is the go-to solution.
