A two-month long escapade through the green thickets of Boston's Roslindale neighborhood ended for one bull last week when the errant animal was finally captured. The bull had been reported missing on June 22, 2024, and evaded capture by remaining well-hidden in dense brush, according to officials from Boston Animal Care and Control. In a methodical pursuit, a temporary pen was established to entice the bull with offerings of food and water, a move that proved successful on August 20, 2024, when the bull was secured.
Once out of the bush's protection, the bull, having been missing since June, was loaded into a waiting trailer, as reported by WHDH. In the wake of its adventure, the bull was transported to the MSPCA at Nevins Farm, marking the transition to a new, more secure environment. The farm will foster the care of the animal temporarily while seeking a permanent adoptive home.
The saga of the missing bull initially began when he was spotted at an intersection in Roslindale on June 20, 2024. After it became apparent the bull had escaped from its owner—who was presumably unaware of the illegality of owning farm animals within Boston city limits—a thorough search was conducted by Boston Animal Care and Control.
