In a late-night development, a Roswell mother and her 4-year-old son, who were previously reported abducted, have been found unharmed. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, their discovery occurred just after 1 a.m. yesterday, ending a frantic search that began the previous evening.
The pair was reportedly taken from their home on Tuesday, a case that quickly escalated leading the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to issue a Levi's Call, the region's Amber Alert System. 11Alive reports, the mother's boyfriend and suspected abductor Brian Thomas Betenia was apprehended following a brief pursuit by Forsyth County Sheriff’s deputies.
Details emerged that deputies spotted Betenia's vehicle and managed to stop him without incident. Both alerts from the Roswell Police Department and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation were consequently canceled following the safe recovery of the mother and her child.
The Roswell Police Department outlined, a series of events initiated when the suspect was believed to be traveling northbound from Sloan Street on Tuesday around 6 p.m. Betenia is now in custody, though charges have not been detailed as of this writing.
