Two separate traffic incidents in San Antonio have resulted in critical injuries for two individuals in as many days. The first accident occurred late Friday night when a man riding his bike was struck by a truck at the intersection of Historical Highway 90 and San Joaquin Street. The truck involved in the incident purportedly failed to stop and render aid to the injured cyclist, who is now hospitalized in critical condition, as reported by KENS 5.
In a similar and equally traumatic event early Saturday morning, a motorcyclist suffered major injuries after being hit by a black pick-up truck. The truck attempted to quickly go around the motorcycle, impacting it from the back and causing the rider to lose control. Like the first incident, the driver of the pick-up truck did not remain at the scene post-collision, leaving the motorcyclist critically wounded and necessitating urgent medical attention, according to FOX San Antonio.
San Antonio police are actively investigating both incidents. However, little information about the suspects or the vehicles has been released to the public. While the local community grapples with these events, authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward in hopes of quickly apprehending and charging the drivers responsible for these failures to stop and render aid.
Amidst these horrific acts of negligence, the San Antonio police have made clear their intent to thoroughly pursue justice. "Police say the driver will be charged with Failure to Stop and Render Aid, when found," as per the statement made by the police reported by FOX San Antonio.
