A San Francisco man, Francisco Romero, was arrested on July 26 after attempting to purchase a vehicle with a fake ID at a business on Serramonte Boulevard in Colma. Colma Police were called to the scene around 6:09 PM and quickly discovered that the ID Romero provided did not match his appearance.

The business manager handed over the suspicious ID to the officers, and Romero's attempts to deceive them with multiple false names were unsuccessful. After being taken to the Colma Police Department, Romero eventually revealed his true identity.

Further investigation revealed that Romero had a $15,000 felony warrant from a neighboring jurisdiction. During his arrest, police also found drug paraphernalia and several false identity documents, including stolen credit cards. Romero was booked into the San Mateo County Jail on multiple charges, including identity theft and possession of drug paraphernalia.
