
San José has witnessed its 20th homicide of the year following a deadly shooting early yesterday morning. According to an official report from the San José Police Department, officers rushed to a business on the 900 Block of McLaughlin Avenue around 3:18 AM after receiving multiple calls about a shooting inside the premises. Unfortunately, they discovered an adult male with at least one gunshot wound.
The officers made attempts to save the man's life, and shortly afterwards by paramedics, who transported the victim to a local hospital. Nevertheless, he was pronounced dead upon arrival. The man's identity hasn't been released yet. It will be disclosed by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office once the next of kin are notified and his identity is confirmed.
The circumstances of the shooting are still unclear, but homicide detectives from the San José Police Department have taken over the investigation. As of now, the suspect remains at large, having fled the scene before the police arrived. The authorities have yet to reveal any additional details regarding motive or circumstances.
Officials ask anyone with information about the shooting to come forward and help in the investigation, and inquiries can be directed to the Homicide Unit.
