San Jose Police Department has commenced a homicide investigation following a late-night shooting yesterday. According to the San José Police Department, patrol officers responded to the 1700 block of Story Road after getting reports of gunfire at around 1:41 AM.
First responders found an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds in the parking lot. Although he was rushed to a local hospital by medical personnel swiftly summoned to the scene, the man was pronounced dead upon arrival. The incident marked the city's 23rd homicide of the year.
The police's Homicide Unit is currently handling the case, delving into the circumstances that led to the fatal shooting as well as the potential motives behind it. The victim's identity is withheld until the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office confirms it and notifies the next of kin.
